Chabot offers programming for adults who wish to connect with the community, meet new people, and discuss the important science topics of our time. We regularly host date night events, speakers series, overnights, telescope viewings, astronomical events, as well as have some unique activities in the works, like a science café and comedy nights. Is the Earth's climate changing? What does it mean for us and what can we do about it? Learn the basics surrounding Earth's climate - past, present, and possible future. Engage in hands-on activities designed to inform you about the physics of Earth's energy balance, heat-trapping gases in our atmosphere, the Carbon Cycle, Milankovitch Cycles, and more. Learn how we read records of past climate left behind in Earth's ice, mud, rocks, and trees. Get the low-down on how we as individuals and as a society can work to understand and change our influence on our planet's environment. Shake hands with life-sized prints of Bill Nye the Climate Guy! It's fascinating stuff and important for us to understand.
