Tales of the Maya Skies is a trilingual (English/Spanish/Mayan) 33 minute digital full-dome show that immerses the audience into the Maya astronomy, art and culture through a custom score and visuals. Produced by Chabot Space & Science Center, Tales of the Maya Skies inspires and educates through its description of the Maya’s accurate astronomical achievements and how astronomy connected them to the Universe. Narrated by Latin Grammy award winner Lila Downs.

Opening Day Celebration
November 21, 2009
To celebrate the public debut of the new digital full-dome show, Tales of the Maya Skies, Chabot, in collaboration with community organizations, hosted an all-day celebration featuring authentic Maya food, music, dance, weaving & embroidery demonstrations, and hands-on activities by Chabot’s own Galaxy Explorers.

In honoring the Maya culture, we have created a Yucatec Mayan language version of the show that is available along with the Spanish and English versions.
