Membership Manager

Chabot Space & Science Center is seeking a Membership Manager to manage, coordinate, and implement overall membership programs, providing exceptional customer service to Chabot members; with a focus on membership acquisition, retention, and renewal. The Membership Manager is a member of the Institutional Advancement Team who.

Develops, manages, and implements membership programs for recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and renewal of lapsed and expired members.
Ensures timely recording of and fulfillment of all Member benefits 
Plans and maintains year-round calendar of member programs and events, including an annual members-only special event.
Collaborates with other departments to create a dynamic schedule of member benefits and represents the membership program to other departments.
Stays informed about all Center events to produce and distribute weekly member and general public events e-newsletter 
Develops, manages, and analyzes member surveys, tracks membership visits and experiences, and analyzes trends. Uses information to adjust tactics and inform leadership about members’ experience of Chabot’s programs
Works closely within the Development team to keep members informed about Chabot’s fundraising efforts and progress and inspire their participation
Seeks partnerships with area interest groups for membership recruitment purposes (i.e. other museums, science centers, universities, alumni groups, and other affiliate organizations, etc.).
Represents Chabot at community outreaches and booths; and participates as on-site manager in evening and weekend member events
Maintains contacts with industry peers and associations to bring best practices to the position.
Develops and maintains budgets, budget reports, and forecasting 


Bachelor of Arts or Science degree required.
Minimum of 2 years experience in non-profit development and/or membership department preferred. 
Must possess excellent communication, organizational, multi-tasking, and strong customer service skills. 
Superior sales skills, with ability to actively listen and follow through.
Event coordination experience preferred.
Ability to work effectively on deadlines, under pressure, and in a team environment.
Experience with a database and proficiency in MS Word and Excel required

 Type: Regular full time, exempt, some weekend and evening hours
