Enjoy an out-of-this-world birthday party at Chabot Space & Science Center! We make birthday celebrations as easy as 3, 2, 1, Blastoff! Simply choose your party package, tell us the date & time of your party and our birthday coordinator will work with you to plan a special day that your family and friends will remember for years to come!
Packages Include:
- Admission for up to 20 people (kids and adults)
- Private Table Time room for lunch & cake (either 60 or 90 minutes available)
- A show for all your guests in our Planetarium
- An activity led by one of our specially trained Birthday Guides (except our Cosmic Packages)

We celebrate birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays only. Parties at Chabot take between 3 and 4 hours depending on your package and how you’d like to plan your day. Your party can arrive as early as 10am, or as late as 2pm on Sundays and 3pm on Saturdays.

Cosmic Deluxe Package (Includes Self-Guided Activity)
Choose from one of our self-guided activities to complete your Cosmic Package! Pick from one of the following kit activities, lead your guests in building them, and then take them home for further experimentation! Each activity includes 20 kits.
- Glove-A-Phone (Ages 4 & Up)
Every kid loves noisemakers - the weirder, the better! Try your hand at creating a truly bizarre noisemaker out of a plastic glove, a straw, and a tube. Learn how sound is produced and experiment to see how to make this instrument sing! - Puff Rocket (Ages 4 & Up)
Do you have a birthday child that loves rockets but is too young for Pop Rockets? Try this easy-squeezey rocket activity! Kids can assemble their own rocket launcher to blast off a straw rocket. Learn about air pressure and experiment to see how to get it to go the highest. You can even take it home for hours of fun! - Rollback Can (Ages 4 & Up)
What do physicists mean when they talk about energy? What are some different kinds? Learn the difference between kinetic and potential energy with this mysterious rolling object that returns to its starting point. Kids can take it home and continue to explore this seemingly-magical toy!

NEW! Slimy Science (30-minute activity)
Ages 3 & Up
Whoa! Yuck! Wow! What is it? This is what you’re sure to hear when kids enter our slime lab! We'll mix up some slimy oobleck and explore this bewildering substance. Is it a liquid? Is it a solid? Maybe it's something else! Find out the answers in our messy (but washable!) new science activity.

NEW! Colors of Light (60-minute activity)
Ages 6 & Up
What's the difference between colors of light? Do all lights make the same color? Build your own spectroscope and you can find out! We'll use it to look at different light sources and learn all about the colors of light. Take it home and continue experimenting with different light sources!

Polar Ice Cream (60-minute activity)
Ages 5 & Up
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Learn about freezing, melting, and the phases of matter all while whipping up a batch of your very own tasty ice cream! Chemistry, physics, and fun collide in our most popular activity.

Pop Rockets (60-minute activity)
Ages 7 & Up
Have you ever wanted to launch a rocket into orbit? Roll up your sleeves and stand back as you blast off your own chemistry-powered rocket! Learn about physics, chemistry, and the scientific method with the help of your very own ground control commander.

Solar Car Challenge (90-minute activity)
Ages 8 & Up
Using solar energy is one of the best ways you can help the environment. We can't think of a better way for kids to learn this concept than by having them design, build, and race solar-powered Lego cars! Rain or shine, come and see how fast, tall, and creative you can make your car.

Make Your Reservation
Tell us which date, time, and party package you are interested in. We will help schedule your Planetarium show activity time for your day.
Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance by downloading and filling out the Birthday Party Request Form. Once you've completed it, submit it via:

Party Policies
Payment
A NON-REFUNDABLE $50 deposit is required to reserve your time and date. A confirmation letter will be sent upon receipt of deposit. The remaining balance is due with your final guest count and show choice one week prior to your scheduled party date. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).
Restrictions
We ask that you not bring balloons, glitter, confetti, or piñatas. These items can be blown into the forest and cause harm to the animals.
Entertainment
No outside entertainment is allowed at birthday parties. We're sure that the various shows and activities available at Chabot Space & Science Center will provide your guests with plenty of fun!
Guest Check-In & Parking
Parking is free at Chabot Space & Science Center. Upon arrival, check in with Visitor Services and receive your group tickets (your reservations will be under the birthday child’s name). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE PARENTS TO DROP OFF THEIR UNESCORTED CHILD(REN) BEFORE YOU ARRIVE!
