Girls Go Techbridge Program Manager
Want to make a difference in a girl's future? Techbridge is an innovative program to inspire girls in technology, science and engineering through hands-on projects, career exploration opportunities, and trainings and resources for teachers, role models and families. The Program Manager is responsible for managing the development and implementation of the scale up of the Girls Go Techbridge project, a partnership between Techbridge and Girl Scout councils to encourage Girl Scouts across the country in science and engineering. The project is expected to reach 12,000 Girl Scouts at 12 regional councils over 3 years. The Girls Go Techbridge Program Manager has the ability to lead and manage projects and timelines, adapt curriculum into programs-in-a-box, cultivate strong relationships with Girl Scout councils, and develop an effective train-the-trainer model for Girl Scout leaders, staff and partners.
The ideal candidate has practical and proven leadership experience, strong training and facilitation skills, excellent relationship-building skills, project management experience, strong technical and science skills, sound judgment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsiblities
Girls Go Techbridge
- Lead and manage the Girls Go Techbridge scale up project to ensure delivery of program and meeting of overall goals and timeline
- Conduct research and solicit feedback from Girl Scout councils to build their input and lessons learned into curriculum development, training and program delivery
- Lead development, piloting and refinement of two new curriculum units. Oversee revision of existing programs-in-a-box
- Develop criteria and process to select publisher. Work with publisher to oversee editing, publishing, and delivery of programs-in-a-box
- Restructure training model and implement an effective train-the-trainer model for Girl Scout staff, leaders and partners
- Oversee production of training videos, create web-based resources for training and develop training manuals
- Manage expansion of project to additional Girl Scout councils; provide on-site training and support for program delivery
- Develop and enhance application process for council selection. Market, recruit and assist in selecting councils for participation.
- Cultivate relationships with Girl Scout partner councils to foster open communication and support
- Work with councils to assist in developing and expanding role model partnerships
- Manage evaluation process; work with external evaluator on developing evaluation tools
- Oversee development of web portal for Girls Go Techbridge
- Prepare report for Girls Go Techbridge for funders
- Manage spending and budget for project
Other
- Develop and conduct trainings at national conferences and events
- Assist with general project support as needed
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of Techbridge
- Minimum 5 years experience in program development, training, implementation and evaluation in a youth serving or educational organization. This experience should preferably include the design and management of science, technology or engineering programs for girls, specifically for diverse populations
- Experience with scaling up projects preferable
- Project management experience required
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships
- Strong technical skills; science, technology and/or engineering background required. Curriculum development experience required.
- Experience with facilitation and train-the-trainer models; excellent presentation and training skills
- High level of cultural competence
- Experience with program evaluation
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Must be resourceful, self-motivated, creative, and flexible
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must possess a valid California Drivers License with clean DMV; proof of insurance and reliable transportation
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
Compensation
Salary for this position is commensurate with other non-profit organizations and will be commensurate with experience.
