Development Assistant
Database Administrator
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development
Assistant provides general support to the Development staff,
manages and coordinates all Development operations in the
Raiser’s Edge database including revenue coding and database
management, and coordinates logistics for cultivation and
fundraising events.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely input of donor and membership
data to Chabot’s donor database, processing and coding all
contributions, preparing gift acknowledgements, tracking and
filing donor correspondence; producing a variety of
queries/reports from the database; maintaining mailing lists
and producing mail merges, acting as the liaison between
Chabot and the mailing houses, preparing packets and other
materials for mailings, coordinating cultivation activities
and special events – includes catering arrangements,
maintaining invitation and attendance lists, providing
hospitality and staffing before, during and after events;
tracking and coordinating department expenditures. Other
duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The Development Assistant interacts regularly with
staff at all levels throughout the organization, and
with board members, donors, high-level philanthropic,
business, and community leaders, and vendors.
- Qualified candidates must possess strong
computer/technical skills and have 2-3 years experience
working with relational databases in a non-profit
development department, mail merge and spreadsheet
programs: Microsoft Word, Excel and Raiser’s Edge
strongly preferred; superb written and oral
communications skills and a fluent command of the
English language; excellent attention to detail,
accuracy and deadlines; ability to work comfortably with
numbers and budgets, and ability to compose letters for
individual circumstances; work with little or no
supervision and also be able to take direction; have
strong organizational and administrative skills; and
project a positive, confident, courteous and
professional demeanor at all times. Qualified candidates
will work well under pressure and be able to manage
multiple and changing priorities. Minimum two years of
full-time employment in office work required.
Willingness to work hard and be a team player is
essential.

Compensation
Hourly salary for this position is commensurate with other non-profit organizations
and will be commensurate with experience.
