For as long as humans have gathered around campfires under starry skies, we have told stories. The mysteries of space have provided an excellent backdrop for many of these stories to play out.
The Bay Lights is the world’s largest LED light sculpture, 1.8 miles wide and 500 feet high. Artist Leo Villareal has called this dazzling artwork a "digital campfire” that brings people who would otherwise never have met into instant communities.
Special thanks to ILLUMINATE, Zoon Engineering, Bleyco Inc., Kapsch TraffiCom, and Philips Color Kinetics for their installation efforts and expertise.
