Kids Go Green

Join Chabot’s Kids Go Green!

Kids Go Green is a monthly, fun and engaging program for kids, families and the community designed and run by staff and teen interns at Chabot Space & Science Center. Through hands-on activities, participants learn about practical, daily steps to reduce impacts on our environment, including how to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and climate change, save energy and resources, create less waste, and enjoy and protect our local ecosystems.

  • Chabot has 324 solar panels on our roof that can generate 25-30 kW of electrical power - that’s enough to power 10 homes!
  • The average person walks 115,000 miles in their lifetime, enough to walk around the world 4 times
  • Chabot is working hard to become a Zero Waste organization - so don’t forget to use our recycling when you visit!
  • Even when electronic devices are turned off, they still use energy
