Anthony Idarola, "Commander Tony," who
courageously battled cancer, passed away August 15, 2005.
Commander Tony brought to life the joy and wonder of space
exploration as the Lead Flight Director of the Challenger
Learning Center at Chabot Space & Science. He touched the
lives of countless children, teachers, adults and fellow
explorers. His technical savvy, boundless imagination,
charming smile and passion for science and education will be
greatly missed.
At the request of his family and friends, we have
established a fund in Tony’s name—the “Commander Tony Fund
for Youth at Chabot Space & Science Center.” If you wish to
donate, please send a check and we will record your donation
and you will receive an acknowledgement. We will also make
Tony’s family aware of your generosity. This is considered a
charitable contribution and may be tax deductible.
