Stellar Society of Major DonorsAbout the Stellar Society Chabot Space & Science Center has been inspiring and educating students of all ages about our Planet Earth and the Universe since 1883. Our state-of-the-art facility, located high atop the hills of Oakland, California serves more than 150,000 public visitors and 50,000 students annually. Interactive exhibits, exciting shows in the Ask Jeeves Planetarium, full-dome shows in the Tien MegaDome Theater, and special exhibitions complement our hands-on science classes for K-12 students, award-winning teen internship and career development programs; teacher training programs that serve 2,000 teachers each year, and community outreach activities, all of which focus on Earth, life, environmental and astronomical sciences. Our longtime partnership with the Oakland Unified School District focuses on underserved and at-risk youth, and encourages them to discover and explore the wonders of science. The Stellar Society is a community of philanthropic leaders and science lovers whose support of Chabot Space & Science Center is key to the success and continuation of the educational and public programs we are able to offer to our young people. Every gift provides critical assistance to informal science education and public programs which would be unavailable to many of our students and community. We invite you to join this group of individuals by making a generous gift to Chabot Space & Science Center. With your help, Chabot will be able to continue offering the full array of our Stellar programs which inspire and excite students, teachers, families, and the general public, about the mysteries and magic of science.
