Starlight Gala 2015: A Startling Evening of Mad Science

The stars aligned for another successful Starlight Gala, which raised $250,000 in support of Chabot’s science education programs. Galaxy Explorers Lucy Liang and Andy Han served as masters of ceremonies for the event which featured recognition of the 2015 Champions of Science honorees (see below) and Chabot’s new executive director, Adam Tobin. A special tribute was paid to Rachel (http://www.chabotspace.org/rachel.htm) Chabot’s 20” refracting telescope, which celebrates her centennial this year. She debuted at the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition in San Francisco before seeing first light at Chabot Observatory.
