  • The Center closes for maintenance for 2 weeks in September, see Special Closings for exact dates and any other changes to the regular schedule.

Holiday Hours

  • Open 10 am - 5 pm: (unless otherwise noted) on MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day and New Years Day.

  • Center Closed: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

Telescope Viewing

Friday – Saturday evenings, weather permitting:

  • 7:30pm - 10:30pm

Wheelchair AccessableWe have a special eyepiece that makes Nellie, our 36" reflector telescope, wheelchair accessible. If you need to make use of this feature, inquire with the staff astronomer on duty when you visit.

Special Closings & Sell-outs
  • Sat. February 20: 1st Floor Spees Building and Planetarium will be closing at 2pm. Remainder of Center to be open.

  • Thur. February 25: The Celestial Cafe will be closing at 3pm. Remainder of Center to be open.


Access for Visitors with Disabilities: 
wheelchair access symbol Chabot Space & Science Center is wheelchair accessible. A limited number of wheelchairs are available on site. Designated parking spaces are located near the main entrance to the facility.
