Chabot offers exciting hands-on activities, workshops, lectures, and other events for visitors of all ages.

Unless otherwise noted, programs are included with general admission on a drop-in basis. Schedule is subject to change.

Dinner, a Movie and the Universe
Rub Elbows with the Stars
Every Friday and Saturday Evening (6pm - 10pm)

Join us for Chabot's unique evening social rendezvous. Start your night off with dinner and drinks, then cozy up in the planetarium as you're whisked to the edge of the universe and cap off the evening with telescope viewing featuring breathtaking views of the cosmos.

Two Small Pieces of Glass
New Planetarium Now Showing!

From Galileo to the Hubble, this 23 minute full dome digital show traces the history, wonder and discovery of the telescope over the last 400 years. Follow two students as they learn how the telescope has helped us understand our place in space and how they continue to expand our understanding of the Universe.

Closed for Maintenance!

Chabot will be closed for maintenance Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, September 11. Center will reopen Friday, September 11 at 4pm - Saturday, September 12.

Chabot will be closed for maintenance Sunday, September 13 - Friday, September 18. Center will reopen Friday, September 18 at 4pm. Chabot resumes normal hours beginning Saturday, September 19. We apologize for any inconvenience.

USS Hornet Museum
Splashdown 2009

The USS Hornet Museum in Alameda will be hosting their Splashdown 2009 event to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11 reaching the moon. One of the Apollo 11 astronauts, Buzz Aldrin, will be the featured guest and will be present to sign his new book, Magnificent Desolation. Tickets can be purchased before July 17th for $20 or $25 afterwards.
