Experiment with Star Trek- inspired cocktails, and experience a Theramin performance and try your hand at making space music. Learn about the possibility of life on other planets from Berkeley SETI Research Center Chief Scientist and Trekkie Dan Werthimer or let Thomas Marrone, the lead artist for the starship and user interface art teams at Star Trek Online, explore why the Starship Enterprise is iconic. Capture a memorable evening dressed in our Star Trek costumes at the spacey photo booth, play Spock games, and gaze into the universe and learn about constellations in our sci-fi planetarium show. Come dressed in your most impressive Star Trek- inspired attire and enter to win our costume contest! Or you could always wear a red shirt. This event is 21+.

Chabot's observatory deck will be open for the Geminid Meteor shower on Dec. 13th-14th from 11:00pm - 3:00am. Our astronomy experts will be on hand to answer your questions and help you catch a glimpse of the brightest meteors in the night sky.

Each Sunday preceding the 1st quarter moon, the Eastbay Astronomical Society invites you to a special private telescope viewing. Unlike our regular viewing on Friday and Saturday evenings, EAS personalizes the experience by taking viewing requests, live interaction, and hosting tours and it's exclusively for our members!
Member Movie Nights - Exclusive Member-Only Events!
Come join us for a feature film screening in our fabulous MegaDome Theater. These events are held on Sunday evenings, after regular closing hours of our museum. We will also be hosting a telescope viewing immediately following the movie screening.
RSVP's for these events are required at least 2 days prior to the event, please respond via the links provided. These are free events for our Chabot Members, however, we do ask that you be considerate and change your RSVP if your plans change, so we don't turn other members away in the event that you cannot attend.
No outside food or drinks will be permitted in the theater, in order to retain the state of the venue.
