Ready to inspire change in your school community? The grassroots non-profit, Cool the Earth, is looking for you. The organization is now enrolling K-8 schools to run their free climate change program that inspires students and their families to take carbon-saving actions. Spare the Air Youth
A part of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)'s Climate Initiatives Program, completed in partnership with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Spare the Air Youth seeks to educate, inspire, and empower Bay Area youth and their families to change transportation habits to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle miles traveled, while also providing a regional resource for students, parents, teachers and program providers.
The program also supports local Safe Routes to School outreach and encouragement efforts. Safe Routes to School is a national movement to improve children’s health and well-being by encouraging them to walk and bicycle to school.
