Chabot Space & Science Center is Oakland’s home for science, located within Redwood Regional Park. Convenient, free parking in Chabot’s 3-level parking structure.

  • Starting in March of 2024 we will be pausing our monthly First Friday events. First Fridays hold a special place in our hearts and are an integral part of our community, but don’t worry, we will be back. As we continue to evolve, we are taking this opportunity to orbit around new possibilities and, ultimately, relaunch something truly spectacular! Learn more. 
  • In accordance with the latest CDC recommendations and local guidelines, masks are optional for all Chabot Space & Science Center visitors, regardless of vaccination status.  Visitors are encouraged to wear masks for personal health and comfort. We will continue to take precautions, including providing hand sanitizer and improved filtration throughout the Center.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required to enter the Center or upcoming public programs.

 

What we ask of you

 

Masks Encouraged

Masks are optional for all Chabot Space & Science Center visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks for personal health and comfort.

 

Wash Your Hands

After hands-on exhibits or eating, wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.

Make Space For Others

Provide six feet of space between fellow visitors and follow directional signage.

 

Stay Home If Sick

If you are sick within two weeks of your visit, contact the Box Office to reschedule your visit.

 

What We’re Doing

Providing Hand Sanitizer Throughout Site

Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the Center.

Improving Air Filtration

Chabot’s HVAC system is upgraded with MERV-13 air filters to catch fine particles.
