FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A PACKAGE?

(1)All Birthday packages include admission for up to 20 guests 3+ to the science center
(2)Party Room - A 90-minute hospitality room (time includes setup and clean up)
(3)Digital planetarium show at pre-scheduled times
(4)Depending on package type, you may have an activity time that is separate from your Party Room which will be led by a Chabot staff person

 

PAYMENTS AND BOOKING

FULL payment is due at the time of reservation. Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice prior to your event will result in a forfeiture of the full reservation amount. Cancellations received 30 days in advance or greater will receive a 100% refund less a 5% credit card processing fee. Cancellations within 8-29 days will receive a 50% refund. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card.

 

WHAT IF I HAVE ADDITIONAL GUESTS?

If your party exceeds over 20 guests they will be automatically charged to the credit card on file at the conclusion of the event. The price ranges from $10.00-$20.00 depending upon package. There is no charge for children 2 and under and they are not included in the 20 person count. Chabot members do not receive complimentary admission to birthday parties.

 

WHAT IF I PAY FOR OVER ANTICIPATED GUESTS IN ADVANCE?

Refunds will not be given if you pay for additional guests who are unable to attend.

 

DO CHABOT MEMBERS RECEIVE SPECIAL RATES?

Members receive special pricing for parties. You may request to become a member on your party reservation form for an immediate discount. Party guests who are members do not receive complimentary admission to parties.

 

WHAT TIME MAY I ARRIVE FOR MY PARTY?

Your arrival time is set so that guests may arrive 15 minutes before your first activity. It is important to note that there is late admission into the Planetarium.

 

PARTY ROOM

A 90-minute party room is determined by guest count and best availability at the time of your reservation. The time includes both setup and clean-up. If a party is anticipated to be more than 45 guests, accommodations can be made for an additional cost, if available. Maximum number of children to participate in any activity is 20 (additional costs may apply). A child/ adult ratio of 5:1 is required.

On the day of your party the host will provide an overview of the day and a storage bin to assist to with the transport of any food or gifts. All adults will receive an itinerary containing a detailed map on the reverse side.

 

DO YOU PROVIDE ANY DECORATIONS OR PARTY SUPPLIES?

Chabot does not supply party décor. You are welcome to bring any of the following items to enhance your party:

• Plates, cups, utensils and napkins
• Cake, candles, matches, cake cutting knife, and tablecloths
• Food and beverage
• Blue painter’s tape to hang decorations.

 

DO YOU HAVE ANY RESTRICTIONS?

Balloons of any kind
Piñatas, confetti, trick candles, silly string, glitter, etc.
Ice cream or ice cream cake (freezer/refrigeration unavailable)
Food that needs to be reheated (microwave oven unavailable)
Alcoholic beverages
Outside food deliveries, vendors or entertainment.

 

DAMAGES

You must leave the room in the same condition as it was found at the start of Party Room. A minimum $50 cleaning fee will be automatically charged to the credit card on file if room is left unclean or damage is found.
