    Admission: $5

    At $5 First Fridays you can enjoy a special themed night with a changing group of community partners. Admission includes hands-on activities and live demonstrations throughout the center, planetarium shows and special events that are going on that evening. It's fun for the whole family!

    Telescope Viewing

    Chabot’s giant, historic telescopes offer a unique way to experience the awe and wonder of the Universe. Check out celestial viewing day and night. Our observatory deck offers breathtaking views 1,500 feet above the Bay.

  • Geminids Meteor Shower

    Geminids Meteor Shower


    When: December 13th (into the morning of the 14th)  Note: This is a late night event 11pm-3am
    Where: Observation Deck (located at the rear of the Center)
    (Center will be closed at this time)

    Chabot's observatory deck will be open for the Geminid Meteor shower on Dec. 13th-14th from 11:00pm - 3:00am. Our astronomy experts will be on hand to answer your questions and help you catch a glimpse of the brightest meteors in the night sky.

    *Visibility is subject to weather conditions.

    This Sleepover will transform from Pajama Party to a Night of Discovery where famous scientists related to Chabot Space & Science Center’s history come to life.

    Check in: 5 pm  Check out: 10 am
    Cost: $85 per person

    Flashlight tours to meet costumed historical characters who influenced modern Astronomy

    Night at the Museum Movie

    Space is limited and by reservation only.
    Each Sunday preceding the 1st quarter moon, the Eastbay Astronomical Society invites you to a special private telescope viewing. Unlike our regular viewing on Friday and Saturday evenings, EAS personalizes the experience by taking viewing requests, live interaction, and hosting tours and it's exclusively for our members!
