    Join us for our 2nd Annual Star Trek adult night, Highly Mixological! This will be an amazing evening of all things Star Trek. Capture a memorable evening dressed in your Star Trek costumes at our photo booth, experiment with Star Trek themed cocktails or play Spock games and listen to music. Come dressed in your most impressive Star Trek inspired attire and enter to win our costume contest! Or you could always wear a red shirt. This event is 21+.

    Join us for hikes through our redwoods! Trail walks are led by an experienced hiker and Chabot educator and feature discussions about the natural environment, events, and objects in the sky.

    Spend the night at the Center, either indoors among the exhibits or outdoors on the observatory deck or Pleiades courtyard. Breakfast and dinner are included, along with special activities for the evening.

    At $5 First Fridays you can enjoy a special themed night with a changing group of community partners. Admission includes hands-on activities and live demonstrations throughout the center, planetarium shows and special events that are going on that evening. It's fun for the whole family!

    Chabot’s giant, historic telescopes offer a unique way to experience the awe and wonder of the Universe. Check out celestial viewing day and night. Our observatory deck offers breathtaking views 1,500 feet above the Bay.

    Join Chabot Space and Science Center at Drake’s Dealership in Oakland every 4th Wednesday of the month for a tinkering and drinkering happy hour! Bring a friend, grab a beer, and start making stuff! We will bring the tools and technology for you to explore, from circuit building to sewing!

    10:30pm – 2:30am (into the early morning of August 1st)

    On July 31st, Mars will be closer to the Earth and brighter than it has been for over a decade—less than 36 million miles away! Whether you gaze at this brilliant jewel set in the heavens above, or take a peek through a telescope, the view promises to be inspiring. Astronomers, telescopes and Mars-related activities on our observatory decks will keep you captivated throughout the evening.

    $8 per person

    Hang out on our new observation deck and be dazzled as you watch the spectacular Perseid Meteor Shower makes it annual trip through our atmosphere and lights up the night sky. Our astronomers are on hand to answer questions and hot chocolate and other goodies will be available.

    Space is limited and by reservation only.
    Each Sunday preceding the 1st quarter moon, the Eastbay Astronomical Society invites you to a special private telescope viewing. Unlike our regular viewing on Friday and Saturday evenings, EAS personalizes the experience by taking viewing requests, live interaction, and hosting tours and it's exclusively for our members!
