K-12 Field Trips: Take a look at our exciting options!

We have many exciting field trip options here at Chabot Space and Science Center. All school visitors get the chance to explore our exciting exhibits. In addition, we have everything from hands-on, standards- based classes, to exciting Planetarium and Megadome shows, to simulated space missions in our Challenger Learning Center.

There are perfect field trips for every grade! If you’ve been here on a school field trip before, we hope you enjoy our new options and sign up process. If this is your first visit, welcome, and we look forward to seeing you up here soon.

Important Notes before you begin:

• You can now request a field trip completely online! Just click on the next button below, and you will be guided through the process. If you prefer, you can still print, fill out and fax in this printable pdf.
• Confirmations and detailed schedules will be sent via email, but payment is not collected online. You will be emailed an invoice, and payment will be due on or before the day of your field trip.

Can't bring your class to Chabot? Have us come to you with Chabot-to-Go!

Our traveling science fair is available to come to your school on evenings and weekends. Chabot-to-Go features at least four tables of hands-on space and science activities for all ages. Perfect for a PTA function, family science night or other special event.

Content Themes (select one when you register):

Astronomy: Activities based up on stars, galaxies, constellations, the solar system, planets, moons, asteroids, and comets.

Space and Astronaut Training: Activities based upon human exploration, rockets, space shuttles, astronaut apparatus training.

Chabot Sampler: An assortment of favorite activities selected from a variety of science areas including astronomy and space science.

Add a Starlab Portable Planetarium

Treat your group to 30 minute mini-planetarium shows (maximum of 25 persons at one time). Timed tickets will be distributed at the event to assure each person is able to see the show.

For schools outside a twenty-mile radius of Chabot, we charge an additional mileage fee of $0.40 per mile.

School is responsible for providing 6' – 8' long tables. Chabot staff brings table cloths/covers.
