All Charged Up
Grades 4-7
Imagine being 300,000 miles from home and needing to repair a circuit
board. Your students will be glad they took this class! Reading
schematics, building simple circuits and learning basic concepts like
series vs. parallel circuits introduce students introduced to the
science of electrical power.

First Star I See Tonight
Grades 4-7
The
magic of the evening sky is our doorway to the universe. Studying the
nature of light and perception, students combine colors to make white
light, and separate it into its component colors. Lessons in
refraction, reflection, lateral inhibition, and the electromagnetic
spectrum launch students on a lifetime of stargazing.

How The World Works
Grades K-3
It’s the best of our magnetism, light, and electricity programs,
specially tailored to the younger set. Easy, hands-on activities
include lasers and strobe lights. Demonstrations of a variety of
optical illusions will spark young imaginations. Students will use
prisms, magnifying lenses, magnets, and their own curiosity to explore
how the world works.

Mars Exploration
Grades 5-8 Only
offered Sept.-Nov.; April & May
NASA is planning its manned mission for 2030, but your students can
prepare to colonize Mars now. They will construct a stable landing
structure, operate a simulation of the Mars Rover, and examine the
technology behind the newest Mars rovers being sent to explore the red
planet.

Space Station One
Grades 4-8
Have you ever wanted to experience “lift-off” in the Space Shuttle? Do
you have “the right stuff?” Students use simulated robotic arms and
practice remote space station docking during this adventure in space
living. Students conduct pulse checks to see how well they operate
under pressure.

Red Rover, Red Rover
Grades 4-7
Send
“Spirit”
and
“Opportunity”
over. In this class we will explore how the Martian surface
may have been formed using stream table’s exercises and meteor
simulations. We will then look at the latest information and
3-D images that our rovers have sent back to Earth and gather
“evidence” to support our landscape forming theories.
