Web of Stars
Web of Stars is a remote-observing astronomy program proposed by Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork, Ireland in partnership with Chabot Space & Science Center. During monthly, two-hour observing sessions, students from schools in and around Cork link with Chabot observers via a two-way video Skype connection to engage in live, remote astronomical image acquisition.
Observing sessions are guided by a list of target astronomical objects researched and selected by the students. As images are acquired they are sent via an FTP site to Cork, where they are uploaded and processed by the students.
